Welcome to Nature Play!
Nature Play Third Sundays at The Garden Education Center, are a great chance to come out and enjoy our local green spaces. The mud kitchen will be open from 1-3 pm, you can bring reusable paper from your recycle bin to make paper airplanes, or bring the dog for a walk on the trails. The Pinetum is a hidden gem in Cos Cob at 130 Bible Street. This Sunday is Father's Day and we've invited a guest artist to create a letterbox stamp for a scavenger hunt. The first five families to collect the stamp will receive a prize collapsible stainless steel cup! RSVP appreciated but not required. Hope to see you there!
About Third Sunday Nature Play Days at The Garden Education Center of Greenwich
The Pinetum has a fascinating history, built by interesting characters who collected conifers, wrote and illustrated story books, and even started the Boy Scouts. The most important history, however, will be the one you share with your kids. Did you ever climb trees, build a fort, or lose your shoe in a mud puddle? Did you have a favorite outdoor spot where you liked to think and dream? The Pinetum is the perfect spot to explore outdoors together!
"We have such a brief opportunity to pass on to our children our love for this Earth, and to tell our stories. These are the moments when the world is made whole." Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder
